Objectivism, Religion, and the Marketing of a Philosophy

This month we will have a discussion on the positive marketing of Objectivism in comparison to religion. How can Objectivism market itself to the young and optimistic, given that religious groups and socialists always seem to promise more attractive short-term payoffs? Can we find a more emotionally-appealing pitch when facing these other groups that assure a "kinder, gentler, warmer, fuzzier" approach to life? This is key to the future of Objectivism.

Both Carl Maertz and Lorie Bugby will present their view of this topic, and lead a discussion for others to share their ideas.

The meeting, on Saturday, April 16, at 7:00 p.m., will be at Lorie's house in West St. Louis County. Email mail@gatewayobjectivists.net for directions or more information.

"My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute."

-- Ayn Rand
