September Meeting:
“Interpreting
the Constitution” by David Mayer
At our September meeting,
we will listen to “Interpreting the Constitution,” an audiotaped
lecture from David Mayer. This presentation was originally delivered at
The Objectivist Center’s 2003 Summer seminar, and is highly recommended
by GO member Frank Bryan.
Mayer discusses the
viewpoints of both conservative and liberal critics of constitutional
interpretation, and then shows how those views lack the context that is
required to interpret it correctly.
In addition to being a
writer and frequent speaker, Mayer is a professor of law and history at
Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.
Join us on Saturday,
September 27, at the home of Joy & Jeff Kiviat. We will also have
plenty of snacks and discussion. Call Joy & Jeff at (618) 288-2330
for directions or more information. Please note this meeting is on the
fourth Saturday of the month.
We welcome submissions of reviews, articles, columns and commentary.
Direct all correspondence to gwobjctvst@aol.com.
