April Meeting:
“The Secret Origins of the Bible”
At our April meeting, we will
watch “The Secret Origins of the Bible,” a videotaped lecture by Tim
Callahan. He presented this talk, based on his book of the same name, to the
Skeptics Society recently (www.skeptic.com).
The book delves into the
mythological systems of the ancient world and how they relate to the stories of
the Bible. In it, Callahan shows the foolishness of fundamentalist literalism.
He also discusses the ways that the concepts of god and Jesus have changed in
modern times from their original intention.
Join us on Saturday, April 19,
at the home of John Drake, for this intriguing lecture. We will also have

April Meeting at John Drake’s Apartment
John Drake has offered to host
the April meeting at his apartment in West St. Louis County, so don’t drive
to Illinois this month. We’ll resume next month back in Glen Carbon at Joy
& Jeff’s house.
