December Meeting:
Our Annual Holiday Party plus
“American Beauty” movie, analysis and discussion

At our December meeting, we will watch the movie “American Beauty” as well as listen to “Beauty and the Beast,” an analysis of the film by David Kelley, and have our own discussion of the ideas presented in the movie. We will also have our annual holiday dinner at the meeting.

“American Beauty,” the Academy Award-winning movie, stars Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening and is arguably one of the best movies made in recent years. “Beauty and the Beast” is a philosophical analysis of the movie by David Kelley of The Objectivist Center. Dr. Kelley explains that the movie is a study of the alignment of forces in our culture today, particularly in regards to views on individualism.

For our holiday dinner, our hosts will provide the main dishes. Everyone is welcome to bring a salad, side dish, snack or dessert to complement the meal and the movie.

Join us on Saturday, December 15, at 7 p.m. at the home of Joy & Jeff Kiviat for a fun evening of food, cinema and discussion. Call (314) 469-2723 for directions.
